Autodesk certification

The Autodesk certification programme provides you with an industry-recognised credential that proves your skill and knowledge. Gaining 'Autodesk-certified' status in an application such as AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor makes you stand out from the rest.

Autodesk certification tests you by exam against a published and agreed standard. Certification exams are exclusive to authorised Autodesk Certification Centres (ACCs) such as Armada.

The benefits of Autodesk certification

Autodesk certification is beneficial to both individuals and employers:

Individuals

Autodesk e-certificate:

Successful candidates receive an e-certificate from Autodesk confirming their 'Autodesk-certified' status. This certificate is suitable for printing and framing. It may be reprinted as often as you like.

Certification logo

You have the right to use Autodesk's official certification logo on your CV, or when marketing yourself or your services.

Listing in the Certified Professionals Database:

You have the option of listing your contact details and certification levels in Autodesk's publicly available database.

Autodesk certification is a standard that you and your clients can have confidence in. Tell your clients that work is carried out by Autodesk-certified professionals.

How long is my certification valid for?

Certification validates your knowledge and skills using a specific version of an Autodesk application, for example AutoCAD 2010. Certification for a particular version of an application never expires.

When a new version of the application is released, you can bring your certification up-to-date by retaking the exam for the latest version.

When and where?

Autodesk certification exams are hosted at our training centre in Bromsgrove in the Midlands, close to Birmingham and the M5/M6/M40/M42 motorway network. Click here for our full address and map.

Exam sessions are typically held every two to three weeks, at the end of each AutoCAD course. Click here for forthcoming exam dates.

How much does Autodesk certification cost?

Exam preparation, resources and retakes

Once you've decided which level of certification is right for you, you can choose from the following options:

Attend training:

The training course recommended by Autodesk when preparing for the AutoCAD Associate and AutoCAD Professional certification exams is AutoCAD, which covers all the areas included in both exams. For other products, please contact us for details of the appropriate course.

For the Professional Certification exam, the drawings used are those which accompany the courseware.

Take a pre-exam test:

For Associate Certification, you can take a pre-exam assessment test at your home or place of work before sitting your certification exam. The assessment test gives you a clear overview of your strengths and weaknesses through detailed diagnostic feedback to help you identify areas of weakness to target as you prepare for your exam.

For Professional Certification, you can take an Autodesk practice test at your home or place of work. The practice test gives you the opportunity to experience Autodesk's performance based testing system prior to taking the actual exam.

Should you need to retake an exam, simply re-book. Autodesk allows candidates to retake an exam they have failed up to a total of three times in each 365 day period. All retakes are charged at the full exam fee.

Cancellations

If a company or candidate cancels a certification exam booking giving less than 6 working days notice, a cancellation fee is payable. Click here for details.
