Autodesk 3ds Max is used by leaders in the video games, film and television industries to produce stunning 3D content. Autodesk 3ds Max Design provides a comprehensive 3D modelling, animation and rendering solution to architects, designers and engineers.

Armada offers training in 3ds Max and 3ds Max Design to new and experienced users. We offer the following courses:

These are Autodesk-authorised courses, run by an Autodesk Certified Trainer (ACT) in Autodesk 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design.

Learning Autodesk 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design Essentials (for beginners)

This course provides an ideal starter for all users of the 3ds Max and 3ds Max Design applications from all industries and backgrounds.

The course is short and intensive, combining demonstration and hands-on practice. Whilst the course is primarily generic, where appropriate the exercises carried out by delegates are relevant to their industry.

Duration

Three days.

Course objectives

To introduce the basic functionality, features and principles behind 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design and teach key theory and techniques that you need to use the application effectively.

New users of Autodesk 3ds Max or Autodesk 3ds Max Design from all industries, including:

		Game developers.
		Artists and animators who produce film and video content.
		Architects, designers and engineers.

Courseware

Delegates receive Autodesk Official Training Courseware, the most comprehensive 3ds Max training materials available.

Prerequisites

Delegates must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and an Autodesk CAD application, such as AutoCAD or Revit.

Advanced Autodesk 3ds Max for games

Duration

Five days.

Course objectives

To teach the fundamental skills and governing concepts essential for creating 3D models for games, including:

		Building characters, vehicles and environments for games.
		Using the advanced tools available in 3ds Max for specific placement of 2D images onto 3D models.
		Setting up characters for animation.

Who should attend?

Those looking to gain the key skills to start a career as an artist or an animator within the video games industry.

Delegates must have attended Learning Autodesk 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design Essentials training, or have equivalent knowledge of 3ds Max.

Autodesk-accredited training

Armada is an Autodesk authorised Training Centre (ATC), and our 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design training courses are accredited by Autodesk. Delegates receive an industry recognised e-certificate from Autodesk to confirm they have attended and successfully completed an accredited 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design course.

Method of delivery

Autodesk 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design training combines lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice. Class numbers are small (maximum 8 delegates), providing ample opportunity to discuss your specific requirements with the trainer. The course goes beyond a basic ‘how to’ approach, offering best practice advice.

Following Autodesk 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design training, delegates are entitled to 30 days email support from Armada to help with any post-training issues.

Scheduled 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design training courses (for individuals) are hosted in Bromsgrove in the Midlands, close to Birmingham and the M5/M6/M40/M42 motorway network; they are attended by delegates from all parts of the UK and beyond. Click here for forthcoming course dates.

On-demand 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design training courses (for your group) can be run on a date and at a location that suits you, which may be our training centre in Bromsgrove or your venue.

How much does Autodesk 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design training cost?

	Advanced Autodesk 3ds Max for games (5 days).	-	£2,495 + VAT for the first delegate, plus £100 + VAT per subsequent delegate.

These prices are inclusive of all relevant course documentation, refreshments and a buffet lunch.

Which versions of Autodesk 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design are covered?

Scheduled courses run in 2010 are based on 3ds Max 2010 / 3ds Max Design 2010, although most of the techniques taught are relevant to all recent releases. If you are using a different version of the application, the trainer will be happy to spend time looking at this with you during the course.

On-demand courses (for your group) can be run on any recent version of 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design.
