Technical author training - Introduction to technical authoring

This short course teaches fundamental technical authoring principles and writing styles appropriate to user documentation.

The course is ideal for:

		New technical authors and technical writers, as a precursor to our Advanced technical authoring techniques training course.
		People who are not career technical authors or technical writers, but who have been asked to carry out technical authoring work.

Sessions cover:

		Analysing your audience.
		Structuring and designing your documents.
		Writing using plain English.
		Avoiding standard errors in punctuation and grammar.
		Designing an effective layout for your documents.
		Reviewing and proof reading documents to improve quality.

The course is practical and 'activity-based'. Throughout the course you perform exercises to gain experience in the techniques taught. Further information is provided below.

General course information

Course objective

To provide a grounding in technical authoring principles and writing styles appropriate to user documentation.

Who should attend?

New technical authors and technical writers, and people who are not career technical authors or technical writers, but who have been tasked with producing user documentation.

Courseware and certification

Delegates attending technical author training at Armada receive comprehensive courseware to refer to throughout the course, and to use as a refresher following the course. Delegates also receive a certificate confirming they have attended and successfully completed the course.

After course support

Following technical author training, delegates are entitled to 30 days email support from Armada to help with any post-training issues.

On-demand Introduction to technical authoring courses (for your group) can be run on a date and at a location that suits you, which may be our training centre in Bromsgrove or your venue.

How much does Introduction to technical authoring training cost?

	Introduction to technical authoring (1 day).	£ + VAT per delegate.	£750 + VAT for the first delegate, plus £50 + VAT per subsequent delegate.

These prices are inclusive of all relevant course documentation, refreshments and a buffet lunch.
