Autodesk Certification is a way for you to demonstrate your skills and knowledge by examination. It is a benchmark which makes you stand out from the rest.

With Autodesk Certification your abilities are independently measured to a published and agreed standard. Demonstrating your skills with this industry recognised credential improves your credibility and performance, and positions you for success.

Autodesk Certification exams are exclusive to Autodesk Authorised Certification Centres (ACC) such as Armada. Autodesk have created three certification options for AutoCAD 2009, listed below. For more details, click on the links:

AutoCAD 2009 Certified Associate exam

Contents

Covers the fundamental concepts and procedures in AutoCAD, as well as specific skills that are appropriate for ensuring a base level of proficiency in AutoCAD. Entry level exam.

Format

This exam is made up of 30 questions. No use of AutoCAD is involved. For more information about the types of questions you will be asked, see our AutoCAD Associate Certification exam guide.

Pre-requisites

You need to be conversant with all of the areas covered in the exam as specified by Autodesk. Here are some pointers to help you achieve this:

		The exam areas are drawn from the material covered in the Autodesk authorised Learning AutoCAD course. We strongly advise you to attend this course before taking the exam.
		Hands-on experience is important and we suggest you gain 100 hours experience working with AutoCAD prior to the exam, as recommended by Autodesk.
		To help you identify your strengths and weaknesses before taking this exam, Autodesk have created an Assessment test which we offer.

AutoCAD 2009 Certified Professional exam

Contents

Covers a broad range of skills, and requires you to perform tasks and procedures using AutoCAD.

Format

This exam is made up of 20 performance-based items. For each item, you will be required to open a drawing, complete a task or series of tasks, and then answer a question about the task(s). You need to be conversant with all of the areas covered in the exam as specified by Autodesk. Here are some pointers to help you achieve this:

		The exam areas are drawn from the material covered in the Autodesk authorised Learning AutoCAD course. We strongly advise you to attend this course before taking the exam.
		Hands-on experience is important and we suggest you gain 400 hours experience working with AutoCAD prior to the exam, as recommended by Autodesk.
		To help you identify your strengths and weaknesses before taking this exam, Autodesk have created a Practice test which we offer.

In order to gain Certified Professional status, you must also pass the Associate exam. You can take the exams in any order.

AutoCAD 2009 Certified Expert exam

Contents

This certification level covers the skills required to perform in a specific job role or specialisation.

Format

This certification exam consists of 20 performance-based questions. This is Autodesk's highest level exam.

You may reprint this certificate as often as you like.
		Listing in the Certified Professionals Database: You have the option of displaying your contact details and certification levels on Autodesk's publicly available database. This is an excellent way to demonstrate your certification status to prospective employers.

Companies

Autodesk Certification is a standard that you can have confidence in. Candidates must provide proof of identity before being allowed to sit an exam. They are required to perform under pressure to a known standard with no help or support from any other person or information aid. The benefits to you are:

How long is my certification valid for?

Certification validates your knowledge and skills using a specific version of an Autodesk application. Certification for a particular version of an application never expires.

When a new version of the application is released, you can bring your certification up-to-date by passing the recertification examination.

Exam preparation and resources

Once you've decided which level of certification is right for you, you can choose from the following options:

		Attend training: The training course recommended by Autodesk for the Associate and Professional certification exams is Learning AutoCAD, which covers all the areas included in both exams. If you are taking the AutoCAD 2009 Professional Certification exam, the questions will use the drawings that are made available to you during the course.
		Take a pre-exam test: For the Associate Certification exam, take an Autodesk Assessment test. The Assessment test gives you a clear overview of your strengths and weaknesses through detailed diagnostic feedback available immediately after you complete the test.

Should you wish to retake an exam, simply re-book. Retakes are priced at the full fee.

Cancellations

If a company or delegate cancels an Autodesk Certification exam booking giving less than 6 working days notice, a cancellation fee is payable. See cancellation terms for details.
